Christmas is a time of spending lots of money and putting on fake smiles for a pair of socks.  Right about now, a famous phrase comes out – ‘This year, lets not buy anything’.  But we never seem to follow through.

Funny enough the one present I cherish the most was a photocopied piece of paper my Mother slipped in beside the pair of socks about 8 years ago. It was this photocopied paper which I added below. This little poster has sat above my desk both at home and at my office for 8 years as my inspiration on work and life (and in fact, thanks for reminding me to make another copy for my files so I don’t loose it!).  I think the personal part that makes it so endearing is the random coloring with a highlight which my mother obviously done in a a random gesture of love.

I guess my point is that you should surround yourself with inspirations.  Both in your craft, and in your life.  These things will always bring out the best in you.
