Now that hockey is back, I finally feel it’s ready to unleash the real reason I started creating 8-bit hockey players. It’s this poster of the NHL’s first overall draft picks. The characters are based off of the EA NHL Hockey 95 (PC version). I have played this game more than most humans on this [...]
It looks like California is calling. I thought it would be easier to announce my relocation to America using this infograph! Please share this with anyone you think might like it. Thanks everyone! Hellooooo sunshine!
These three characters were created for a fitness trainer, who wanted some cartoon versions of her characters.
Minimalist poster concept for the popular book series and new hit movie The Hunger Games.
Yes I had to pay homage to the newest NBA sensation, Jeremy Lin!
These 6 buildings were created for my good friend Rebecca Bollwitt, more famously know in VanCity as @Miss604. You can see the entire header design on her website at miss604.com.
“Super Cats” seemed like a good idea at the time…
Yes, Peter Berg announced that the TV series, Friday Night Lights, may be heading to a theatre near you! I loved the movie, the book and the tv series. But this got me to thinking…
This is a mystery project I’m working on for someone in Vancouver. I thought I’d create a meme on the steps it took to create my “vector” of BC Place. I can’t wait to show you the entire thing!
Sometimes, all we need…all we seek…is encouragement….some good advice. Here’s Ira Glass, an American public radio personality, and host and producer of the radio and television show This American Life, sharing what he’s learned throughout the years. It’s applicable to anyone who’s pursuing a creative path. (originated from mymodernmet.com)
The Hart Trophy is given to the one player that is voted as most valuable to his team. By definition, each team would have one player that would clearly be defined as most valuable to his team. Occasionally, a very successful team may be lucky enough to have two nominations in top ten in Hart [...]
Vancouver Canucks Opening Day Vancouver Whitecaps Vancouver Whitecaps vs L.A. Galaxy
Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games. Soon to be the blockbuster movie and everyone will know about this story. Until then, it’s just you and I…
I created this post as a response to the constant question on why the Canucks lost. There are in fact many reasons, but all those reasons pale to the comparison of health. Let me know your thoughts.

Do you recognize this pattern? “Yippee, I landed a big contract with Corporation X!” – “OMG, this is taking forever and it’s getting nowhere!” – “Phew, we’re finally done finished Corporation X’s project” - “Woot, look how nice Corporation X looks on my portfolio. I’ve made it!” – “It’s over a year, I wonder if [...]
The other day I was all excited to watch The Soloist on Blu-ray because Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx are two exceptional actors, and I was told the sound and music was outstanding. Unfortunately, when I pressed play on my Blu-ray player the disc just wouldn’t spin. Strangely enough it worked fine in my [...]
continued from Part 2… So we have just looked at Nintendo‘s rise to power in the 1980′s by focusing their brand on promising powerful technology and gaming excellence. We also looked at Nintendo throughtout the 1990′s as the market slipped past them. Gaming console began to proliforate the market and quantity began to prevail over [...]
Something sweet and amazing to send you off of for the weekend.
Song and lyrics by Dan Mangan

Have you ever designed a movie poster and you wanted to use that font at the bottom of every movie poster they use for the film credits? Or have you ever designed a poster that’s faking like a movie poster and you wanted to use that font at the bottom of every movie poster they [...]
Bill had trouble finding work, but finally he got a job as garbage man. On his first day on the job, the boss gave him a written list of the addresses he had to go to pick up garbage. Bill looked at the list despondently. “I can’t read,” he confessed to his boss. “Well,” said [...]
continued from Part 1… Get N, Or Get Out! (cont’d) In 1995, on the eve of Sony‘s launch of the PlayStation, Nintendo had complete domination the home console market. Kids no longer went to the arcade after school. Instead, they would race home on their skateboards and reload their saved game of Zelda on their [...]
Kevin Isaac is a comic-style artist and graphic illustrator based out of Vancouver, Canada who works under his company, Orca Illustrations (est. 2005). I’ve known Kevin many years, and he has always been able to make amazing character illustrations that have emotions and life. If you walk through any Cineplex Entertainment movie theatre in Canada, you’ll see evidence of his artwork in posters, signs and other marketing material.
Nintendo is one of the oldest video gaming companies in the market, and surprisingly enough, their logo has stayed relatively unaltered throughout their entire existence in the consumer electronic market space. Not to say they’ve had their ups and downs over the years, in fact, they almost completely disappeared into the video game graveyard until they miraculously took a 90 degree turn in their corporate strategy to save their company.
Starting a brand new WordPress template is pretty daunting. I might compare it to a painter and a blank canvas, but that doesn’t have a structure or framework to work around. Maybe it’s more like having dinosaur skeleton, and trying to figure what that dinosaur actually looks like. You always have the option of downloading [...]
Christmas is a time of spending lots of money and putting on fake smiles for a pair of socks. Right about now, a famous phrase comes out – ‘This year, lets not buy anything’. But we never seem to follow through. Funny enough the one present I cherish the most was a photocopied piece of [...]
One of the first things I do when I design a website, even before I open Photoshop or Fireworks, is I start researching other websites. As the saying goes, “The wheel has been invented already…by some guy…with a big nose…in Pittsburgh…on a Wednesday” (Or something like that. I never really remember saying that well). I [...]
