Part of the culture of TELUS is building up their ‘team’ or employees and motivating them to better themselves. The Human Resources department created this 5-part video series featuring the motivational speaker John Izzo discussing his book The Five Secrets You Must Descover Before You Die with Josh Blair, the Executive Vice President of TELUS HR. This website was an internal presentation delivered weekly for 5 weeks on the TELUS intranet. This was one of the first presentations I created for TELUS internal communications which provided High Definition Flash video on their network. Considering the impact of the message and the visual brand design, this website is one of my favorites I ever created for TELUS.

TELUS TeamVision

TeamVision is an corporate video series distributed bi-weekly to TELUS employees nation-wide. Shot, edited and presented in a lifestyles magazine format, TeamVision showcases TELUS’ spirited teamwork, innovative technologies, and highlights new products and services. This award winning corporate communication engages an average of 11,000 employees across Canada and helps bring a national corporate closer together.

Established in 2002, teamVision is distributed to company employees via email and featured on the corporate internet and the corporate digital signage network. One of the major challenges is to create innovate techniques to broadcast this presentation in an ever changing technological and social landscape. The initial broadcasts were transcoded in a postage-stamp sized video window. During SixSix8′s involvement with this project, teamVision has evolved in using syncronized PowerPoint, closed captioning, audio translation, online contests, social commenting, star rating and HD/widescreen presentations. The goal was always to create a more engaging experience for users, all the while never detracting from the core message.

SixSix8 has helped TeamVision has won multiple awards including mutiple Gold Quill awards from IABC, and 3 international Stevie Awards (widely considered the Oscars of the business world).

TELUS Teambook 2009

TELUS Community Engagement department runs a yearly imitative called TELUS Day of Service. On May 15, TELUS team members across Canada go into their community and volunteer their time to non-profit organization. Individuals, teams and their families participate in various programs in all the major cities across the country. The TELUS Teambook was created to help capture the event in words, and video. This year was also coordinated with the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes as part of this special day.

Video production teams and photographers were sent to various locations to capture the spirit of this day. Employees were encouraged to also take photos of their activity and an application was also built for them to upload the website. This project was an extremely rewarding experience of showing the generosity of giving and great example of corporate community engagement.

Island Soccer 101

Island Soccer 101 is the second branch under Island Recreation 101. It’s an indoor co-ed soccer league on the foundation of competitive fun, and treating participants like athletes.

This website was eventually replaced with a more traditional league format, but this design was created to help jumpstart this soccer initiative.

TELUS Teambook 2007

TELUS Teambook was conceived as a means to promote a corporate social responsiblity, particularly the TELUS Day of Service which happened on September 29, 2007.

The direction was to make a website with allows the user to ‘explore’ the various regions and ‘experience’ the affect that event had on the regions. I decided to create a horizontal website; mostly because the “storybook” suggestion which never translates well on a webpage. Though horizontal websites have great challenges, the result was a unique website with various content including quotes, kudos, photos, videos and logos.

The Pumphouse Pub

The Pumphouse Pub is a located on No 2 Road in Richmond BC. Long established in the West Richmond community, the pub needed to connect to the newer, more connected clientele. Timed with their renovation, I created a website to help promote their menu, specials and music.
